Clubhouse Grand Opening Day

After many weeks (months!) of waiting BDARS was proud to celebrate our official opening day to introduce the clubhouse to our members, dignitaries, sponsors and visitors.

The weather was exceptional, a perfect nice warm sunny day which meant we could set up outside the clubhouse in the park as well as show off some of our technical achievements inside the building.

It was a grand event and throughout the day: we had attendance from maybe 30-40 members and visitors. The BBQ was serving complimentary snags and cold drinks. It was primarily operated by President Geoff, and all the other helpers and demonstrators made sure that the Amateur Radio message was conveyed to all who came.

The clubhouse is available for group meetings, training and radio nets, or it can be used simply as a hang-out for somewhere to socialise with your radio mates!

Thanks to Martin VK4MCU, Access to the clubhouse is via an electronic lock, and, subject to understanding some club rules, all members can be provided with individual entry to use the facility.

The property has an accessible toilet and coffee and tea making facilities, almost all the comforts of home! – we are still working on adding more though our ongoing fundraising efforts.

A big Thank You to all the volunteers that helped to make it a very special day in BDARS history.
