Organiser Colin VK4ZPU is seeking participants for the International Lighthouse and Lightship Weekend (ILLW) on the weekend of August 17th/18th.
BDARS has a history of being part of this event and we’ll continue this tradition by taking part on Sunday August 18th from Cleveland Point (near the lighthouse).
We’ll be picking of the equipment on Sunday morning at 7am from the museum and we should be on site at Cleveland Point around 7:30. We can start operating as soon as we are setup.
The aim is two-fold, to contact as many lighthouses/lightships as possible and to contact as many amateurs as possible that are not at a lighthouse/lightship.
This is a very laid -back day, NOT a contest, no pressure to move on quickly as per contests, so a chance to swap details and have a very pleasant time. Even if you don’t take at turn at operating it will be a nice place to bring your friends and family and neighbors so they can see BDARS in operation!
