CQ WW DX Contest

CQ WW DX Contest

BDARS will again be participating in the CQ WW DX Contest on SSB which this year runs over this weekend: 25th-26th October 2025. We have selected this Saturday for our club’s participation in this fun contest day event.

The CQ WW is the world’s largest Amateur Radio contest, drawing over 35,000 participants. Held on the last weekend of October (SSB) and November (CW), the event challenges operators to make as many contacts as possible with a wide range of DXCC entities and CQ Zones.

Our BDARS team will be operating from our clubhouse in Cascades Park, Victoria Point, Redlands and is led by Colin VK4ZF. Our kick of time is at 10AM local time – but we need to set up well before that!

Please be there around 9:00AM if you are helping to set up, Martin VK4MCU and Colin VK4ZPU can provide further details how the day’s event will be run. Please make contact with Martin or Colin if you think you can attend (e.g. email: secretary@bdars.org.au)

Contests are always a good spot for newbies to the hobby to learn how contest operations work, including logging. A great experience – even if you only want to watch.
