Our next Tech/Social meeting at the Redland Museum is on Monday 21st July, 7:00PM for 7:30PM start.
Join us for an engaging and community-filled night, where innovation, exploration, and local connection take center stage. Whether you’re a regular member, a curious visitor, or someone with a passion for all things technical, this evening promises to inspire and inform.
We’ll kick off the night with a brief club update, where you’ll hear the latest news, developments, and plans from within the group. This will be followed by a special voucher draw to show our appreciation for the dedicated volunteers who recently supported the Bunnings fundraising effort. If you pitched in — don’t miss your chance to be recognised and possibly rewarded!
Next, we’re delighted to hear from past President Geoff Taylor, who will take us on a journey through his recent travels across Europe. Expect stories, insights, and perhaps a few laughs from this first-hand adventure abroad.
Geoff will also give us a timely update on the Redlands Coast Museum project, sharing progress and plans for this exciting local initiative that many of you have supported and followed with great interest.
After a short coffee break and a chance to catch up with friends, we’ll return for the technical highlight of the evening: John Bews will present a deep dive into LoRa modulation – the technology behind the Meshtastic®. This low-power wireless communication technology enables long-distance data transmission on just 100mW. Whether you’re into amateur radio, IoT, or just enjoy smart signal engineering, John’s talk will provide valuable insight to show LoRa’s incredible reach on minimal power.
So come along, bring a friend, and enjoy a night of knowledge, stories, and community. As always, there will be be great conversation, warm coffee, and plenty of inspiration to take home.
