A rainy 14th December 2024 was the day when BDARS members and their families were invited to participate in our Christmas Lunch at the clubhouse. The event was a success; all participants enjoyed their time and expressed thanks to the members and their partners who organised the event.
In fact, Secretary Martin and his generous wife Salome did most of the preparation and procurement of Christmas delights, including the catering items and the Christmas decorations employed to mark the special occasion.

As the weather was not on our side, the inside of the clubhouse was fully utilised to maximize the space available for the festive luncheon.

Then, the members and the guests arrived to a warm welcome from everyone. After refreshments and good conversation, the lunch kindly cooked by Martin with a little help from Subway was underway.

The children were all very well behaved and were a credit to their parents. The thoughtful inclusion of colouring books and crayons by our organisers was a nice touch and despite the inability to play outside due to the weather they were happy.

Of course, the occasion wouldn’t have been complete without our President’s speech, which was very well delivered – and well received. Geoff, mentioned some of the achievements over the past year and our bright future outlook with the open opportunities at the clubhouse and the museum.

After the excellent lunch, and further conversation over coffee and deserts, a few people looked at a Virtual Reality headset brought in to demonstrate some new technology – and to have a little fun time too!
