BDARS will again be participating in the VK Shire’s Contest which this year runs over this weekend: 7th-8th June 2025. We have selected this Saturday for our club’s participation in this fun contest day event.
The aim of the contest is for amateurs around the world to contact as many VK shires as possible in the contest period. VK amateurs are to work the world including VK, whilst the rest of the world can only work VK
Our BDARS team will be operating from our clubhouse in Cascades Park, Victoria Point, Redlands. The Contest runs in 4-hour segments and after each four hours we are allowed to rework contacts that made earlier. The contest kick of is at 10AM local time – but we need to set up well before that!
Please be there around 8:30AM if you are setting up, and 9:45AM if you wish to operate the first segment. Martin VK4MCU and Colin VK4ZPU can provide further details how the day’s event will be run. We need to hear from you if you wish to attend. Contact Martin or Colin (e.g. email: secretary@bdars.org.au)
Contests are a good spot for newbies to the hobby to learn how contest operations work, including logging. A great experience – even if you only want to watch.

Meet at the clubhouse: Cascade Park building, Victoria Point, 314
Colburn Ave, Victoria Point, (Adjacent to the Meals-on-Wheels compound).
