A fascinating Tech Nite with good attendance. Many highlights, but the key points were:
- David VK4JM gave a great talk on the Bouvet Island DXpedition and his successful FT8 and CW QSOs – using the club’s FlexRadio HF station.
- We launched the online auction of the Icom 735 HF 100 watt transceiver and matching power supply
- John Moyle Contest Sat 18th March – a reminder. And there seemed good consensus that we should start at 2 pm for our six hour session, and run into the evening. Remember, last year, we won this contest in the section multi operator, six hour, multi band category.
- Geoff V4GNT gave us an update on the club’s Magnetic loop build project – another meeting scheduled for Sunday at the Museum. Details to follow.
- FreeDMR is gaining in popularity – Martin VK4MCU runs a Thursday night Late Night Net at 9 ppm.
- Phil VK4PG gave us an update on the Museum Training Room/Workshop project
