A Special Saturday Clubhouse Meet

A Special Saturday Clubhouse Meet

Today, President Martin VK4MCU made our usual Saturday clubhouse meet a special time to for us to remember David VK4ZF.

Many members came down and reminisced about their memories of David while sharing egg and bacon rolls and continuing the tradition of tinkering with the radios, antennas and repairs; some club projects, some their own – just as David would have done!

David was a past President of the club, a dedicated supporter and a driving force behind many of its activities, particularly the BDARS Maker Group, where his knowledge, practical skills, enthusiasm and willingness to share were an inspiration to others.

David gave generously of his time to the club and his expertise and friendship was always an inspiration to others.

As a lasting tribute to David and his remarkable contribution, the workbench he built for the clubhouse now proudly bears his name. Resting on that bench, awaiting deployment, is one of his many projects: an antenna rotator controller for the club’s Mt Cotton remote radio station. It seems especially appropriate that one of David’s creations will continue to serve the club long after he has left us.

David leaves behind a legacy of generosity, ingenuity and inspiration, particularly for our fellow makers. His spirit and passion for creating, sharing knowledge and helping others will continue to live on within our club for many years to come.
