The Victoria Point clubhouse was buzzing again this Saturday morning with hands-on projects, lively conversation and plenty of collaboration. From the moment the doors opened, members were busy tinkering, testing equipment, sharing ideas and catching up over coffee.
If you weren’t there, you missed a fantastic morning that showcased everything that makes our club such a great community. Whether your interest is vintage radios, the latest technology or simply enjoying good company, there was something for everyone.
Tinkering, Testing, Tech Talk and Snags
John Paul VK4JPW and several members spent the morning testing a new prototype antenna, with Sean VK4SLM and Michael using the club’s VNA (Vector Network Analyser) to measure and fine-tune its performance.
Phil VK4PG dropped by with a faulty Raspberry Pi, while Eddie VK4TJE tested a pair of laptops that could potentially be used for future club training and learning days. It was also great to see David VK4ZF arrive in his new EV, accompanied by son Mark VK4MDH. The buzz was about future projects, including contributions toward the signal field strength antenna mapping project idea,
Ross VK4SRS and his daughter also lent a hand throughout the morning and together with Noel VK4NAF, helped to keep everything running smoothly.
BBQ and Great Company
A big thank you goes to Graham VK4GCR and John Paul VK4JPW for preparing the excellent BBQ. With the cool weather and blustery wind, the sizzling sausages were a welcome addition to the morning. President Martin VK4MCU suggested using some of the leftover stock from last Sunday’s Bunnings fundraising BBQ, and it proved to be a great idea.

While fundraising wasn’t the primary purpose of the gathering, generous donations for the BBQ added a little extra to the club’s funds.
Thanks to everyone who came along and contributed to another enjoyable and productive Saturday morning at the clubhouse.
