Once again, BDARS has a stand at the “Switch on to Science Day” event held by the Redlands Coast Museum at Cleveland, 10AM to 2PM.

More information is available on the Museum’s website.

We have several exhibits planned including the history of radios with crystal sets. We will show the youngsters that radios don’t have to have batteries or power supplies -and you can make your own!

Bringing it right up-to-date, we will be showing a full-size Cubesat working replica. These replicas can transmit and receive all forms of digital content including slow-scan images from a camera mounted inside one of VK4JBE’s satellites.

The Museum’s other science exhibits offer a fascinating array of technology, including lasers, microscopes, and a variety of cutting-edge demonstrations. You’ll also find some of our members showcasing live weather satellite imagery—captured using their own home-based receiving equipment—bringing space science right down to Earth.

Join us for a day truly worth your time — Switch Onto Science promises to be an inspiring celebration of curiosity, discovery, and innovation. In a world increasingly shaped by science and technology, sparking a passion for these subjects in young minds is more than just important — it’s essential for shaping a brighter, better future for us all.

So why not stop by, explore the wonders on display, and show your support for both this exciting initiative and our beloved museum? Your presence could help ignite the spark of science in the next generation.
