HackTalk at the clubhouse

network-hell. Man scratching head, cables everywhere

Bob, VK4YA will be repeating the talk and practical given a couple of weeks ago on Internet Protocol Version 4 (IPv4) for hams. The new details are:-

Location: our clubhouse in Victoria Point
Date/Time: Monday 24th June 9:30AM for a 10AM start

Unfortunately places are limited, so RSVP secretary@bdars.org.au if you wish to attend and check we still have room; the session is expected to take us up until about lunch time with coffee breaks and chat time included.

This is a technical talk followed by a lightweight demo with an opportunity for ‘hands-on’ – if you bring your laptop. This topic imparts foundation knowledge and demonstrates some tools to help us understand how to successfully implement and debug Internet based networks for amateur radio uses – how it all *really* works (we start with IPv4: later sessions may cover other protocols).

For amateurs that have their backgrounds away from the IT crowd, this friendly, small group meeting should help to build your knowledge and understanding of the modern Internet for amateurs.

Below is the intro from last time’s session:-
