Donations
Have you been personally approached by someone about them donating?
Thinking of making a gift/donation to the society or to club members ?
As a volunteer run, not-for-profit society, we rely upon the goodwill of members and others to support our cause. With this in mind, the last thing we want is for there to be cause for accusations of conflicts of interest, ambiguity and doubt about the nature and intent of donations. However, these types of upsets are unlikely to occur if we make sure we followed the step below: –
The simple form below must be used by society members to document (1) who the donation is from and to (to you, or to the society), (2) what the donated item(s) are, and (3) if there are any attached conditions or special wishes of the benefactor.
This form also makes it clear that a donation fully transfers the ownership and responsibilities from the benefactor to the beneficiary, so both parties are covered as a ‘clean’ and permanent transfer of the title and responsibilities.
The society relies upon timely open disclosure and communication from all members regarding donations, loans, and when acting to help others sell items (for example from a deceased estate). It’s in everyone’s interests that good faith is always openly demonstrated, not just assumed!
We have two other simple forms for these other cases; 1) if you are approached about helping to sell items, and 2) If you loan something to the society. Please contact the secretary for these forms.
