The hobby of Amateur radio encompasses a very broad range of interests and specialisms. Not everyone shares the same priorities in terms of what aspect is the most interesting.
For this reason, BDARS currently have three special interest groups which are not exclusive – members often associate with more than one group.
In the future we are hoping to add more groups, but the idea is that the needs of each group are conveyed upwards to the committee, who then try to facilitate the requirements.
We try to be driven by our membership, ‘bottom-up’, not conventionally from the top, as it often would be found in conventional workplace environments.
