Membership of the Society is open to all those with an interest in communication via radio utilising the many and varied means of communication including voice, digital and video systems. Frequencies range from those of the traditional High Frequency Bands (HF) to the Very High (VHF) and Ultra High Frequencies (UHF) , plus the most recent in the gigahertz range (SHF).
Membership is available for those living locally, interstate or overseas. Students are especially welcome.
You are not required to hold a radio licence for membership of the Club but we are here to help you gain your licence from the authorities. A licence is required before you can be allocated a call sign by the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA).
If you are interested in becoming a member then the best thing to do is utilise the contacts as listed on the “contact us“ section of this website. The membership application form can be downloaded from this link: membership form. You can then post or email your details to the secretary.
Current licence holders
If you are already a licenced amateur radio operator, please call in on the regular nets as detailed on the activities page. Membership is not required for use of the nets.
You may pay your membership fee, currently AU$30.00 per annum, at a club meeting or deposit into the society’s bank account.
