The Society has an lively program of activities. These include monthly club meetings, social nights, radio club nets and technical classes for those wishing to further their proficiency in all things radio, electronics or related interests.

Club Meetings (Suspended due to Covid-19)

Meetings are held on the first and third Monday of the month, commencing at 7.00pm (General Meeting) and 7:30pm (Social/Tech meeting), at the REDLAND SES facility, 47 Wellington Street Cleveland. Feel free to call in via the club’s repeater for more information – or just to say you are on your way!

Club Coffee Meets (Suspended due to Covid-19)

A Morning Coffee Meet is held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month at Redlands Sporting Club in Anson Road, Wellington Point Qld 4160.  These coffee meets start at 10:00 AM and are often attended by twenty or more members.

Club Nets (open to all) –

  • VHF Net : 146.675 MHz FM (-600KHz offset, 91.5Hz CTSS VK4RDB Repeater at Mt Cotton) Monday evenings at 7:30 pm local time, usually run by Peter (VK4VY) with the club callsign VK4BAR
  • HF Net : 3.570 MHz LSB SSB Wednesday evenings at 7:30 pm local time, usually run by Paddy (VK4JPD) with the club callsign VK4BAR

Member’s Nets (not club organised, but still open to all) –

  • Dawn Patrol Net : 438.450 FM (-7MHZ offset, 91.5Hz CTSS) (VK4RDB Repeater, Mount Cotton) at 6:30AM Mon-Sat usually run by George VK4AHG and/or Eddie VK4TJE

Amateur Radio Examinations

The Society conducts classes and mentoring programs for new members to gain their radio licence and to upgrade their current licence. An in-house examiner conducts necessary Amateur Radio Examinations. See the Licencing section of the website for more information.
